INTRODUCING GUEST CHEF – JOSH EMETT

We sit down with Josh Emett, New Zealand’s world renowned chef to discuss his background and passion for cooking. His three dishes featuring on the Woop Foodie menu are; Chicken Nasi Goreng with Fried Egg and Crispy Shallots (delivered on the 18th and 19th October), Herb Spiced Cous Cous with Caramelised Onion and Dukkah Crusted Lamb (delivered on the 25th and 26th October), All Green Salad with Pan Fried Prawns and Gourmet Potatoes (delivered on the 1st and 2nd November).

Chicken Nasi Goreng with Fried Egg and Crispy Shallots

Nasi goreng is one of my absolute favourite dishes - this version is packed full of flavour.

Delivered on 18th and 19th October

Herbed Spiced Couscous with Caramelised Onion and Dukah Crusted Lamb

This is a couscous dish I have made for 10 years, I love the combination of textures, spices & herbs.

Delivered on 25th and 26th October

All Green Salad with Ginger Garlic Prawns and a Pistachio Wasabi Pea Crumb 

This is one of my go-to salads, it is fresh, delicious and with a fantastic dressing.

What’s going on in your life at the moment – any projects, passions or focuses?

2020 has been a very exciting year. I have taken over Oyster Inn on Waiheke Island and have opened a new restaurant in Central Auckland called Onslow.

What are your top 3 career highlights?

  • 2 Michelin Stars with Gordon Ramsey while heading up his NY restaurant.
  • Opening Rata Queenstown and seeing its success 8 years on.
  • Cooking for incredible people such as: Mick Jagger, Kings of Leon, LL Cool J, David Beckham.

What’s your pet peeve in the kitchen?

Untidiness.

Favourite international cuisine?
